Do you notice a difference in your sleep quality and mood each day of the week?

According to a recent survey conducted by the popular iOS sleep tracker and smart alarm clock app, Sleep Cycle and shared by The Huffington Post last week, the sleep habits of people around the world do change on a day-to-day basis.

The data comes from 941,300 of its app users across 50 different countries, which helped to both reinforce common beliefs specific days of the week, like those dreaded Mondays, and help us gain new insight to others.

Not surprisingly, it was found that Americans sleep additional 28 minutes on Saturday nights, and cut back on sleep the most on Sunday nights, which helps explain why everyone can’t stand Monday mornings. However, the research named Wednesday as the night we all sleep the best with fewer nighttime awakenings as we enjoy deeper shut-eye.

As it turns out, we all wake up in a relatively good mood in the mornings. Tuesday was found to be the day we were in our worse mood, but Fridays put us in a better mood with most people not getting out of bed until 8:24 a.m.

Improving your sleep with a tracker is one that many use to be more aware of how many hours they are collecting each night. Adults need 7-9 hours of high quality sleep every night of the week, including weekends, to protect their health and boost their overall quality of life.
