What It Means to Be Sleep-Deprived in America

If you are one of the millions of U.S. adults who aren’t getting enough sleep, you may need a little motivation. There are plenty of health issues associated with a lack of proper sleep, including cancer, heart disease, obesity, dementia and an earlier death.

However, before those issues have a chance to impact you, every night that you don’t tuck in for 7-9 hours of sleep, you are immediately at risk for a poor work performance, traffic accident, losing your wallet, arguing with your significant other and other negative possibilities that could not only ruin your day, but change the entire course of your life. Going through the day drowsy, unfocused and uncoordinated is simply a perfect storm for disaster.

Forbes Magazine shared this very neat infographic that sums up what the risks truly are for being Sleepless in America. Check it out below and let us know why sleep is important to you!
